Album Notes
“Beyond the Sunset” was a labor of love, created soon after the book release, “It Is Better To Have Loved” by Mildred Burchfield. The stories in her biography bring us to a place and time when these songs were inspired. Along with her accordion and all the other instruments played by friends and family, this special project quickly became one of our favorites as it touched on the great classics of yesteryear.

In the style of Floyd Cramer and Lawrence Welk, these memorable songs come to life with the addition of strings, guitars and other acoustic offerings.

Having our mother (Mildred) as one of the musicians on this cd (when she was about to turn 90), is something that could only happen once.

The easy going tempo on this collection provides peaceful, background music for the listener. But more than that, it is a celebration of the long, musical life of Mildred Burchfield.
