Album Notes
As part of the rapidly developing Charlottesville, Virginia singer-songwriter community, Jason Burke is a student of 60's and 70's American and UK rock and roll. His love of the Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and the music of the city of New Orleans informs his songs directly and heavily. His music is a blend of roots rock and 70's throwback, with the occasional pit stop in country and soul territory. "Whatever serves the song," Jason says.

His 2013 EP, Just a County Down, was a good taste of Jason's live shows at the time: big 12 string acoustic guitars, harmonica, and deliberately spare arrangements. With 2015's release of Burning Daylight, Jason stretches out dramatically. Pulling from the vibrant and diverse musical community of Charlottesville, Virginia, the session players on this record are unified in their dedication to the song. No overplaying here: at 39 minutes, the record is a brisk, joyful listen that bears many repeat visits.

Recorded at Ravensworth Studios in Scottsville, Virginia,ws co-produced by Jason Burke and Butch Taylor (Dave Matthews Band, Robert Jospe Express). For Jason, the joy of working in the tranquil beauty of Ravensworth was matched only by the chance to work with Butch. Indeed, Butch's presence, guidance, and great demeanor opened the sessions up greatly. "If you listen, you can hear the joy and passion of "Burning Daylight." That's because it was everywhere during those sessions." (J.Burke).

Jason plays all over Central Virginia and has been known to travel. Keep up with him at www.jasonburkemusic.com.
