Album Notes
This CD is dedicated to Ronald Kornegay who passed away Oct. 2005. His death inspired the creation of this CD, which is a compilation of some old and some new material. Ron was a gifted musician, who sang and played the drums on a bunch of these tracks. I met Ron about 1994 through Terry Thomas.

Terry, Chris Arbisi, Michael Caldarella, and my brother Ethan all had played together in a group called WHITE TRASH (Elektra Records) a few years earlier. After achieving some minor commercial success with the 1st WHITE TRASH album (we sold 150,000 records), the band broke up , and splintered off into many directions. The singer, Dave Alvin, put together a new version of WHITE TRASH, and released a 2nd album on Elektra Records (the guitar player and bass player of that new version, Craig Leblang and Eric Brodin also appear on a bunch of these tracks here). Michael Caldarella and I formed a band called HASH with singer/guitarist Seth Abelson, which was also put out by Elektra Records. My heart was not in that band though, so I left. //

Soon after, I decided to follow my heart and record the music that I truly wanted to make. Without the backing of a record label this time,Terry, Chris and my brother Ethan, decided to form a new group and record some songs. But we were missing a key element that we were used to having --- our boy Michael Caldarella on drums. //

That's when Terry brought Ronald Kornegay into the mix. We now had a new friend, as well as a great drummer. Then, when we heard him sing, we were blown away and knew we had a solid group. We recorded some songs and did a few local shows, but the band fell apart shortly after. Most of the guys moved on to regular jobs. I ended up playing and touring with the punk/hardcore bands Murphy's Law and Skarhead. //

Now, many years (and lots of drugs!) later, I formed a music production Co. called Gotham Gold Music Productions. After Ron's death, I felt it my duty that my 1st project would be to "dust off" some of those old recordings and release them, along with some newer, more recent recordings we had done. I always felt that WHITE TRASH had been unfairly categorized as another "hair" or "funk-rock" band, and even though I don't give 2 fucks who categorizes what as what, I believe WHITE TRASH had more depth and soul than that. For those of you that wondered whatever happened to that WHITE TRASH sound, well here is a taste of where it headed. With the addittion of new horn players Paul Vercesi, Kevin Batchelor, and Benjamin Clapp we bring you the sound of BUTTERBRAIN. Thanks for listening!!! //// Aaron Collins aka White Owl /////

P.S. Watch out for the solo WHITE OWL CD coming out in Dec. on GOTHAM GOLD MUSIC PRODUCTIONS
