Album Notes
BUTTERFLY BREAKDOWN: Blues Infused Bohemian Rock-n-Soul
Butterfly Breakdown became Portland’s #1 Indie Rock band in 2014 and has been fluttering about the top 5 on the ReverbNation site for over a year.
This group is well known for cultivating a luscious blend of opulent vocal harmonies layered with acoustic guitars and hand percussion to fill the stage with a compelling presence.
Anastasia Gilliam and Zay Harrison are the heart of this ensemble and joined forces in 2011 in Portland, OR.
They have carefully crafted an eclectic fusion of Blues, Rock and Soul meticulously weaving the emotional authenticity of “Old School Blues” with the drive and thump of “Classic and Alternative Rock”.
This powerhouse foundation is the very cornerstone of Butterfly Breakdown’s sound.
Building on that infrastructure with soulful vocals and heart stirring harmonies and you begin to get an idea of the sonic depths this group can reach.
Performing live primarily an acoustic duet this dynamic duo wanted to take the opportunity to arrange and record their songs with a full band.
In 2012 they began laying down tracks and released the EP "A Little Water" in advance of the upcoming full length CD entitled "Blue" (due for release by December 2014).
