ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hard Learned Truths is Bay Area singer/songwriter Caitlin Glennon's first full-length release, written on guitar and synths and recorded and mixed over a period of 3 years in her home studio (Mathphobia) and drummer Harland Burkhart's (The Samps, Wild Hunt, Dimesland) studio in Berkeley, CA (The Alamo). Burkhart is featured on her 'Ready For Some' song, and producer/bassist/drummer Svend Nielsen is also featured on several songs (for full album credits and lyrics visit Caitlin's website).

Hard Learned Truths is a combination of hard-rocking guitar songs, dance-driven synth tracks, and melodic acoustic folk-rock songs with thoughtful, passionate lyrics. Caitlin describes the litmus test for creating her songs, "I don't record anything that isn't catchy or hasn't been running loops in my head a couple hundred times. I also spend much more time on the lyrics than anything, and will wait until I think they’re just right, which can sometimes hold up a song from being finished for a very long time."

Caitlin's Hard Learned Truths is the follow up to her 2006 4-song EP Someday We'll Be Gold (available on Bandcamp) which includes tight pop-rock 'Art School City' and melodic synth-rock 'Every Day is a Dream." Her songs have been played on LA's The Independent FM radio and Berkeley's KALX.
