The Caixa Percussion Trio, Julie Hill, Julie Davila, and Amy Smith, has been dazzling and educating international audiences for more than a decade. Caixa performances include the Seoul Drum Festival in South Korea, Festival Internacional de la Percusion in Puerto Rico, Journees de La Percussion in Paris, France, and the Percussive Arts Society International Conventions. The unique Caixa experience presents the art of percussion in classical, rudimental, modern, electronic, and world music idioms. Caixa also gives workshops and master classes at public schools and universities throughout the United States. Caixa is dedicated to expanding the literature available for percussion trio by writing and commissioning new works. This album features collaborations with Anders Astrand, Michael Gould, and Steve Houghton.
