Take it to Harp
Forget images of Harpo Marx or cherubs playing lyres in heaven. This is a no nonsense presentation of the Harp Twins Revolution where modern tunes and rock classics are treated with commitment and devotion. It begins with a web spinning rendition of Fear of the Dark. You soon become ensnared by the composition and the phrasing created by the Harp Twins. A classic like Paint it black is not muted and still holds that darkness of the Stones tune. There is nothing pretty about it; you feel the anger just the same. Then there is the ethereal treatment of Don't Fear the Reaper. One gets a vision of Bergman's characters crossing the hillside with their Dance of Death..Your guns and your wars, ,,. the protest and the angst...must be a Zombie in the house. What a great collaboration it would be to have the Harp Twins begin with the opening strains of Stairway to Heaven ,Plant's plaintiff voice and Page tearing up the lead . Dream on, dream on, yes it would be great .Also a fitting end to the album. Hell, you even like the Lady Gaga extra at the end.
