ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This EP is an accumulation of songs written during my year and a half stay in The US.
The songs touch on various feelings that I was having during this time...Some of these feelings or stages of life included the forming of a bad 'day-time' TV habit whilst ironing, insecurity in a new City and Country, a growing obsession with my smart phone, a desire to get up, out and continue on a musical journey inspire of my own insecurities and finally a Song for our son who was going through a tough transition...Well maybe the song was for me..Its so hard to see your kids struggle...

The artwork was done again by the brilliant Nicholas Darby, who has been creating the images for the last 3 albums I have put out...I value his heart and soul and love how he interprets the music.

The name of the album 'Cover Me' - makes me think of being looked after, protected, wrapped in a blanket and loved..Even as an adult, sometimes we crave this.

This EP and collection of songs will always mean a lot to me as it signifies the 18 months we lived in Bethesda, MD. It reminds me of the beautiful friendship I have with the DC band Color School. It reminds me of the album I was lucky enough to record with them called 'Close enough to Fix'- The studio where I recorded this album with Color School is the same studio I would go on to record this EP. Thank you Jerry Herg, Bill Kalish and Paul Hyland. It was an honour to be in your band.

The 5 song EP was recorded and produced by Jim Ebert at Cue Studios.
Meeting Jim Ebert whilst recording with Color School was a game changer.
Another blessing was being able to bring Jon Steele on bass and Canadian Guitarist Tristan Clark, together to make this EP.
Jon and I had been working as a duo for about a year playing in DC...I was thrilled he agreed to play on the songs EVEN THOUGH there was no jazz in sight!!!! Tristan and I have known each other for eons, and it was a fantastic fluke that we were in The US, on the same coast at the same time...To have such a great player, writer and music producer in his own right, perform on the EP really made the whole process feel cozy! Andy Hamburger the drummer, was Jim's suggestion...What a fantastic suggestion THAT was...Thank you Andy, sorry I didn't get to hang around longer and gig with you!
This EP also reminds me of the great friends we made in Bethesda, who we will never forget, and of course I will never forget the time in 'Mommy's Little Helper Band' AKA 'MOM BAND'....

All of these events led to making this EP, but the most important to me is the never ending support from my husband Ian.
Ian has put up with some kind of major or minor financial 'happening' every year or two for the last decade...I am never going to bring in the big bucks, I may never even get rid of all of the CDS and Vinyl I have in our basement (STILL TRYING THOUGH), but I am truly inspired to do my best with each added piece of ART, in hopes of making him smile, or tap his toes, or hum to one of my tunes...When our daughter choses to wear one of my 'band shirts', or tells me which song she likes or DOESN/T like, it makes ALL of it seem right.-
As I need my family to 'Cover Me'- to keep me safe and connected, I truly hope one of these songs might give that cozy feeling, even if fleeting, to someone here...
Thank you for still listening, Thank you for your support.
