ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Candace Bellamy and Dan Stein's music combines jazz, soul, and R&B - the melting-pot aesthetic of American music.

On "2x2," they explore different eras of pop: first, a pair of acoustic tracks drawn from traditional popular song (the Gershwins' "Someone to Watch Over Me"), and classic rock & roll (the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter.)

Then, switching hats to the contemporary, they reimagine both songs as modern electronica. Layers of drum programming, synthesizers, and manipulated samples create apocalyptic (Gimme Shelter) and ethereal (Someone to Watch Over Me) tracks based on the rhythms, sounds and techniques of EDM (Electronic Dance Music.)
