A Canterbury Christmas

by Canterbury Transfer

Beautiful, traditional Christmas music mixed with ancient carols sung in Gothic Cathedrals. Exquisite singing in lush four part harmony intermingled with a unique variety of instrumentation. This CD is artfully performed and sure to invoke the warmest feelings and cozy Christmastide memories. Featured solos, duets and trios add further interest to the web of carols.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Canterbury Transfer was an a cappella vocal ensemble specializing in a variety of early Christmas music and Renaissance Madrigals. Well known in the Phoenix area, Canterbury Transfer captivated valley audiences from 1992 to 2000, both during the Christmas season and as a favorite at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. The ensemble was comprised of seven Phoenix-based, classically trained singers many of whom received their Music degrees at Arizona State University and brought together years of National and International performing experience in Opera, Musical Theater and Oratorio.

A Canterbury Christmas, the group’s second album, received much attention when it was first released in November of 1999 with radio interviews and extensive airplay on Phoenix area radio stations. It was widely distributed at local record shops and is still in demand today.

Members of Canterbury Transfer include:

Sopranos: Jennifer Couldry & Catherine Riemer
Altos: Patricia Irby & Mary Bowers
Tenor: Chad Millar
