ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Talkin' story.... I liked it, but I did not try to "GET INTO" into Hawaiian music, When I moved to Hawaii 9 years ago, I was comfortable in my own music, a poet, campfire cowboy, maritime writer, Caribbean sailor and beach bar singer, Scandinavian fiddle, English concertina, Irish / jazz flute and guitar player. I did not even want one of those little 'plinky-plinky" soundin' ukuleles. How arrogant was me yah? But you know, by'm bye, Hawaiian music enchanted me, and got itself "INTO ME", forgave me, wrapped it's sweet soft charms around my soul and won't let go. I have two ukuleles now, a baritone and a tenor. Just as soon as I sell some of these cd's I'm pretty sure, a plinky little concert ukulele will find me.

This is the Third cd in the TIKI TORCH COLLECTION.
First was five years of dating on Maui lyrically told on "TIKI TORCH SONGS"
Then, The charm of Hula Girls and their story of fun and Aloha on "SWEET HULA GIRL"
Next is the joy of 5 years married to my wife Lorena on "UNDER THE SPELL OF HAWAII"
Finishing these cd's is like completing a painting after three years of days and nights of passion.

Mahalo to Braddah T / Tom Martinez of the STEVE MILLER BAND, sound engineer and photographer on this cd, Randy McGowan on bass guitar, Rakhal Kincaid on Hawaiian steel guitar, David Percy on first lead guitar, Jim Taylor and Russ Schmidt on drums, and me on guitar, lead ukulele, and Kala (silver) flute. "Hawaiian wedding song" and "All it takes is Love" were recorded with permission of LImelight / Charles King, and Momanson publishing / Alan Linde.

The Hawaiian musicians that influenced me the most, some which have become friends: Wendal Warrington, Henry Kaleialoha Allen, Na Leo, Barry Flanagan, Keili'i Kaneali'i, Terri Garrison, Eric Gilliom, Duke Walls, Bill Crabrera, Steve Sargenti, Ekolu, Lahaina Grown, Hapa, IZ, Keali'l Reichel, Ernie Paiva, Amy Hanaiali'i, Willie K, Harry Troupe, Richard Ho'oppi, Tarvin Makia, Pearl Rose, Keola Beamer, Brother Noland, and more. Some have passed on now, but my thanks to you is expressed in these cd's.
