Album Notes

The band was formed and named by Joe and Lou, neighbors, who live not much more than a stone's throw from Cardigan Junction. After jamming a couple times in Joe's basement we recruited musician friends one at a time until we had a full band and with some help from Dawn and Charlie, we made this album.

Cardigan Junction, the Sault Saint Marie and Atlantic Railroad's switching yard, located in Shoreview, MN, was built in 1887. Also known as the Soo Line, the site was the first in Minnesota to have a depot. The junction is (was) a major three-way intersection for switching freight and (passenger) train cars bound for locations all around North America. The depot at Cardigan Junction was a Victorian frame structure that was used for passenger boarding until 1962 and was later demolished in 1984.

Cardigan Junction is
Lou Becker (guitars, vocal), Joe Colihan (guitars, vocals), Tim Earnest (keys, vocals), Charlie Kroger (guitars), Rich McLellan (drums), Dawn Turgeon (saxophones, vocals), and Mike Whitmarsh (guitars, vocals)
