ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"THIS CD IS OUT OF PRINT AVAILABLE FOR DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY"

Formed in February 2003, Carey Sims & Black Market Radio is the creative offspring of a trio of veteran songwriters: Carey Sims (voice, guitar), Andy Seets (guitar), and Derek Young (bass). The group quickly penned a healthy batch of tunes and completed the band by recruiting their buddy Chuck Lee (drums) in to the fold. By July 2003 the band had its legs, playing gigs and beginning to create a buzz one listener at a time.

The band was aptly described by one music critic as "Radio Ready Alt. Country". Equal parts rhythm and blues, country, and roots rock have found their way into their straight ahead sound. One part southern soul singer, two parts raw gutsy guitar, mixed in with a crack tight rhythm section is the BMR recipe.

On "Coffee and Second Hand Smoke", Sims and the boys give you a nice chapbook of old-fashioned story songs accented with Sims' uncanny knack with meat-and-potatoes rock hooks. His agile voice is reminiscent of early Paul Rodgers, raw and precise. Guitarist Andy Seets shines throughout and is the record's unsung hero adding memorable countermelodies and often blazing lead work.

If you are a fan of simple to the point songwriting, heartfelt lyrics that tell a story, strong melodies, and rich southern harmony, then "Coffee and Second Hand Smoke" is a CD that needs to be in your collection.

Black Market Radio frontman and principal songwriter, Carey Sims has just finished his first solo Cd, “WHEELS” which is also available at Cd Baby.

I get butterflies when I listen this CD
I get butterflies in my stomach when I listen to this CD. Words cannot express how impressed I am. The album is so polished. Every note, every chord, every word, how all the instruments blend together is immaculate. Carey you have an amazing voice and have done a wonderful job producing. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.

Pleasing to the ears, mind and soul.
This album is terrific. It is classic. You can listen to the CD from the begining to the end, never skipping a song.
There are few CD's made today that you can do that and enjoy the musical experience.

Amazingly real and genuine
This album tells a genuine story from track 1 to 12. It's been a long time since I've heard such passion, talent and commitment humbly showcased on one record. This CD is a must-have for anyone who is tired of bubble gum pop, cheesy rock or overly dramatic country and ready for real music that touches your heart---the way that music is supposed to be. Be glad you can snag this CD now before these guys go all the way to the top!

Blown away!!!!
Blown away! Those are some legitimately great tunes, and you've got a very unique talent with that voice. That CD is better than about 99% of what passes for "music" these days. Good luck with it - hope it
gets the attention it deserves...
