Album Notes
Molto Groovy Productions is proud to launch our first record album: "Molto Groovy Christmas!". Recorded in analog and arranged in the eclectic style of 60s and 70s Italian soundtracks, this is not just any ordinary Christmas album, but a super-groovy journey into smooth-vintage perfect for dancing in the company of your coolest friends and old-time mates.
To get the party started, we kick off with the vibrant made-in-Italy Organ tones of 'O Come All Ye Faithful', which would make Otis Redding jealous to not be on the dance floor.
The angels will be snapping their fingers to the funky heaven-shaking rhythms of 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing' followed by a fabulous cool freakbeat spin on 'Joy To The World!'. The full-speed energy continues for 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town', because you know when Santa arrives, the party is only beginning!
Grab your bella ragazza and a cool Mai Tai for the detour to Honolulu as you enjoy a tropical rendition of Irving Berlin's famous 'White Christmas' - then, get ready for a rocking wild twist-surf duel between gunslingers with 'Jingle Bells' which that cool cat Ennio Morricone himself could not have surpassed!
Our sexy, unpredictable journey features many sounds like those of our friends Ennio, Piero Piccioni or Armando Trovaioli, but there's only one beautiful voice, that of Edda Dell-Orso who inspired this performance of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'.
Let the party roll on as the bells ring out to the rhythm of shake! 'The Little Drummer Boy' is grooving!
Then, grab a 'shakerato' coffee as the sun starts rising over your yacht moored off Capri and listen to the bossanova stylings of 'Silver Bells'.
'Silent Night' is next, but don't yawn yet, it's not silent, but a psychedelic trek to a 1968 Hamburg club filled with smooth sitars and endless stars falling from the sky. Now it's time for the super beat of Moogs, bells, fuzz guitars and a whistle solo a la Alessandro Alessandroni for 'Sleigh Ride' followed by Shooby Shooby choral stylings reminiscent of Piero Umiliani with 'Feliz Navidad', which brings us to an end of our aural voyage.
We hope you have enjoyed your trip - Auguri and Happy Christmas!
