The album's highlights include the shimmering, percussive "Javelin," a cinematic suite inspired by the composer's novel "Three Strikes and You're Out'," the poignant "A World Away" and the exciting finale, "A Day in the Life of a Starfish."

Composer Carl Schroeder of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a graduate of St. Olaf College, writes music for concert band, orchestra, choir, chamber ensembles, piano and electronics that is often inspired by American history, current events, natural surroundings and memories.

His large ensemble music has been performed by more than 30 concert bands, orchestras and choirs including the Air Force Band of Mid-America and Ukraine's Chamber Choir Kyiv. He has received commissions from numerous ensembles and individuals, and four CDs of his music have been released.
