ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"CARL SIMS", The Living Legend has done it again! He has been singing since he was 16 years old. Opening for the great Otis Redding as the original lead singer for the Bar-Kays back in 1967, he was one of the surviving members that took the commercial flight with James Alexander that dreadful night of the plane crash that killed Otis Redding and everyone on the plane with one lone plane crash survivor Ben Cauley the other original member of the Bar-Kays. Carl has continued singing which was always his passion. We have been touched by his music one way or another singing songs like "I'm Trapped" and "Seventeen Day's of Loving on the "House of Love" album and is still household music loved by many. In 2017 Carl Sim's was awarded the Jus'Blues Bobby Blue Bland Lifetime Achievement Award" on the "Night of the Living Legends" at their annual convention. SIMS will forever represent a standard of greatness in the Blues/R&B market. We won't say that this is Carl's greatest hits album because his greatest is yet to come. He just gets better and better. He is pure Soul/Blues/R&B and tells a story in his music like any country and western singer could ever do. This Album is a collection of new and old songs that will pick you right up and spin you around then lay your down slow and easy. You will love all nine (9) of these hit recordings and you will listen to them over and over again and smile! When they ask you who is that you're listening too? You'll say .... that's "CARL SIMS".

Congratulations to the Johnson family's production crew Ron, Alex and BJ at BJ BEATZ STUDIOS in Shreveport, LA for a job well done. Alex and little sister Nia Johnson singing background vocals and featuring Renee Caldwell on "Trail Ride" and Debra Benson singing and featured on "When Something is Wrong With My Baby", a tribute to Otis Redding and Carla Thomas. Alphonzo Fulcher and "CARL SIMS" let us all know what a real "County Boy" wants. Little unknown history fact, SIMS is truly a country boy that moved to the city. He was actually born in Holly Springs, MS in 1949 and his family moved to Memphis, TN when he was still a baby. Then Carl also does a tribute to Johnnie Taylor, Willie Hutch, Otis Redding and Carla Thomas. RIH & RIP

One thing for sure, this is one big happy production team doing what they do best. We won't say that this is CARL SIMS greatest hit's album because his greatest is yet to come. But we will say you don't want to miss getting this album or the next.
