itself is itself
"Itself" isn't what you expect, but it exceeds your expectations. You can't categorize Carl or this music within standard music industry labels. This is filed under "jazz" because it's the closest name available for spontaneously re-structured acoustic music, but it's really nothing other than what it claims to be: itself.

Messieurs chapeau bas !
Really a great recording ! Mr Carlton Schroeder is a great pianist and a great musician. Piano solo pieces are wonderful, especially, for me, "The buzzard song" which reminds me the harmony of "Gabriel Fauré" (French composer of the last century). The pieces of T. Monk are beautiful ! I enjoy them very much.
Bass and drums are ok to play with this elegant pianist.
Merci beaucoup Monsieur Schroeder

(Please, excuse my english, I would have been able to make a better music criticism in French)
