ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Assembling Memphis' finest jazz and classical musicians, producer Carl Wolfe has recreated the string ensemble that performed aboard the Titanic. On this critically acclaimed recording, Wolfe captures the essence of the musical climate of 1912. In addition, Wolfe has composed two pieces, "Leaving Queenstown" and the haunting "Fateful Hour," which celebrate and mourn the Titanic phenomenon. This CD is officially endorsed by Titanic: The Exhibition and was produced for its North American debut in 1997. Carl Wolfe is the co-founder of The Memphis Jazz Orchestra and served in the U.S. Navy as a featured saxophonist for The Commodores. Wolfe also arranged the critically acclaimed W.C. Handy's Beale Street: Where The Blues Began on the Inside Sounds label and has a contemporary jazz instrumental CD entitled Reed Between The Lines featuring original compositions and masterful sax performances.
