ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ancestral Trance-Carolina Chrem
Inspired in colorful Indian scales and rhythms, and plenty of world music condiments, Carolina Chrem softly weaves east and west , ancient and contemporary, heaven and earth in original compositions.
With her hypnotic voice and soulful lyrics, she leads the listener through a timeless experience, a journey to the depth of being, awakening to the powerful and joyful essence of music.
Ancestral Trance achieves a unique and beautiful fusion mending wonderful vocals with world rhythms played on tabla, darbuka, udu drums, frame drums + bass grooves, and winding melodies played on violin, egyptian ney, laud, sarangi, harmonium.
Carolina Chrem is Vocalist, Composer and Teacher.
Since 1996 she studied and performed with great world music musicians and felt specially attracted to Indian and African music and the infinite possibilities of vocal improvisation
Following her interest in trance and altered states of counciousness she explores how the use of language, the infinite qualities of voice, polirhythms, vocal ensemble and ancient instruments can lead us through a journey to the depths of being creating a space for healing, wellbeing and oneness.
After exploring, for a long time, traditional world music, she starts composing her own original songs where world sounds meet her poetry and soulful vocals.
