ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jazz harpist Carol Robbins’ new CD “Moraga” showcases her unique creativity and expands on her previous work by exploring exciting new musical collaborations. A member of Billy Childs’ Jazz Chamber Ensemble and a two time Grammy nominee, Ms. Robbins here displays her chops as a first-rate improviser and composer. The CD vividly reflects her experience recording and touring with multi Grammy winner Childs and the world-class musicians in his group.
Those who are used to hearing the harp in only a classical setting are in for a surprise and a treat with the arrival of “Moraga”.

“ Her harp playing is as fluent as any harpist alive (and any harpist since Dorothy Ashby” (Scott Yanow of www.allmusic.com)
