Album Notes
Sacred Love Songs CD

This debut album from the classical inspirational singer Caroluna is not of this world. Angelic, translucent, soaring, ethereal vocals, beautiful string arrangements, duet vocals by Pakistani classical singers Shafqat and Sukhawat Ali Khan, set to ecstatic poetry from the great mystics. Pure bliss.

Sacred Love Songs is Caroluna's debut CD. Her music project, "Sacred Love Songs" or SLS, is an outpouring of devotional, inspirational, spiritual ecstatic love songs to the divine. Caroluna's musical artistry and ethereal vocals transport the listener to pure bliss.

The Sacred Love Songs project was inspired by the ecstatic poetry of mystics and saints of many spiritual traditions such as, Rumi, Hafiz, Mirabai, St Teresa of Avila and Meister Eckhart. The Ali Khan brothers, Pakistani Qawali singers Shafqat Ali Khan and Sukhawat Ali Khan are featured on four tracks of SLS. They come from a long lineage of renown devotional, classical Pakistani Sufi Qawwali singers.

Cello, violin, viola, upright bass, tablas, djembe, harmonium and swaramandala accompany the soaring vocals of Caroluna and the Ali Khan brothers. The swaramandala is the instrument featured on this project. The swaramandala, or “temple of notes”, is a harp or zither - like instrument of many strings.
