Album Notes
This collection of stories capture the life of artist George Henry Story from boyhood to his 3 days in the office of President Abraham Lincoln and on to become a respected member of the art community. Later in his career George Story became a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and an honorary curator at the Wadsworth Athaneum in Hartford Connecticut.
Listen to the stories of boyhood adventures around the port city New Haven CT. Hear how the artist perceived the coming of the Civil War, what sent him from Washington D.C. . This collection was derived from the writings of the artist that were carefully tended and handed down across the generations. Now the writings take on a life through the voice of the artists great-great niece, a storyteller.
