ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Carpenter Caswell continue the momentum of their first two #1 hit singles with their third release, “High Hopes” on June 21, 2017.

The single is the follow up to the overwhelmingly successful debut single from late 2016, “Back When I Was Older”, and the country/rockabilly smash from early 2017, “Life Like It’s A Trainwreck”. The success of both of these singles, with heavy chart action and airplay all around the country, as well as on the Country Music Channel, has turned what was supposed to be a one off ‘bit of fun’ into a full fledged album project. Their self titled debut album will be released in late August 2017.

“High Hopes” was a song that came to Carpenter in a clear, vivid dream on New Year’s Day this year. He explains, “I had to wake up because I had a dream of Allan and I playing this song on a big stage. I got up at 5am on New Year’s Day, went outside to the living room, and sung the chorus and first two verses straight into my phone so I didn’t forget it, then went back to bed.” A few hours later he sent it through to Caswell, who helped refine the lyrics and melody, and added the potent third verse. “As soon as I heard it, I knew it was a winner” says Caswell.

The record has the signature trading off of vocals between the two, built on a classic country rock production, featuring big open guitars, slide guitar and a bold rhythm section. The hybrid of their styles is sealed with the gospel colours of Hammond Organ and big ensemble vocals, created by Carpenter and his partner in crime in The April Family, Kylie Whitney. “We wanted this to feel simple, classic and celebratory. This IS a song that should challenge and inspire the listener to take a look around and rise up to the task ahead,” explains Carpenter.

With the album completed, the pair look forward to unleashing the self titled debut album in late August. The album will showcase all the different flavours of the country music they love so much, reflected in the songs they’ve written in the last 16 months, with a sound that has evolves as they continued to refine their writing process. With everything from traditional country, to bluegrass, to country rock and even a swampy instrumental, the album promises to be one of the highlights of the country music year.

The pair are planning a run of shows down the East Coast in the last third of 2017, culminating in several showcase performances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2018.
