ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Quebec based singer songwriter Catherine LeBlanc is a new voice in original modern jazz. She has a very distinctive tone. With her smooth, sensual and powerful sound, she reaches very high and very low pitch notes for the enchantment of the listener. She studied jazz at Laval University and has been playing and composing for over a decade.

She sings and improvises with her long time friends and members of her Quartet: Claude Lavergne - Drums;
Antoine Lemieux-Rinfret - Piano and Alexandre Le Blanc - Upright Bass

The album «Some place else» offers not only a unique mood with beautiful melodies and lyrics, but really adds a new color to jazz landscape.

Recorded «live» in a studio hidden far in the woods in May 2015, this first opus reveals the artist's strong desire to come back to the roots. To be instinctive, true and honest, simple or complex, sweet or hot, but always with heart and passion.
