Album Notes From Cathy:
No Christmas album is complete without "Silent Night" and "White Christmas", two favorites I grew up singing and my first memory of, was my parents singing these.
Irving Berlin's verse to "White Christmas" is not often sung, but been singing it since High School, adding the lyrics New Orleans.
"O Holy Night" first sung in French and I loved recording a verse in French.
I first heard John Denver's "Falling Leaves" on his T.V. Christmas Program from Aspen, Colorado in 1988. It was an honor to record it with Chris Nole who worked with John Denver.

After hearing Bill Danoff's "Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas" in 1973 on John Denver's " Farewell Andromeda" album, I learned it right away to sing for my Father. He loved it and I've been singing it since the '70's.

June 16, 2015, hot summer night, I awoke with inspiration to write "Christmas Here in New Orleans." I felt the music as Bluesy. Hoped to record it and "Please Come Home for Christmas" sometime with friend and my Producer Chris Nole.

Late summer 2015, my Mom was very ill and I took care of her until her passing in October. Soon after, my husband was also ill. With God's help, we all make it through the dark times to the light of Christmas.

March of this year, I wrote music to "Christmas Here in New Orleans" as laid back and bluesy, like my hometown, and was inspired with "Jesus is Born," writing music and lyrics in an hour.

June 16th, traveled to Nashville to record with Chris Nole. Magical moments and fun in the Studio. Chris did an incredible job Producing this album!
Pure genius when Chris paints a song! He captured the soul of New Orleans with his Blues piano and fantastic Band on my song "Christmas Here in New Orleans" and Chris' deeply emotional piano arrangement on my song "Jesus is Born."

I hope you enjoy the Christmas we created for you, as much as we did making it.
Sit back, relax with your hot cocoa, or cafe au lait. If you feel like dancin' "Laissez les bons temps rouler."
As we say in New Orleans, "Let the good times roll."
May you feel the true Spirit of Christmas always in your heart. Pray for Peace.
God bless you and Merry Christmas! Cathy
