Dan Davilla

Best Jazz Vocal Album for 2017
In2uition by Cathy Segal-Garcia is the Best Jazz Vocal album to come out in 2017. She has selected fourteen songs to show case 10 different piano players. She has Josh Nelson, Otmar Ruiz, Vardan Ovsepian, Jane Getz, Gary Fukushima, Bevan Manson, Llew Matthews, John Beasley, Karen Hammock and David Moscoe playing piano. For two songs she has added violinist Calabria Foti. Cathy has selected a variety of songs from standards to self written songs. My favorite songs on the album are Ruby My Dear, Bonita, Something We May Never Know, It Never Entered My Mind, Looking for Bill, Song of My Heart, Small Hotel, Mary O'Shanessy and America. This album deserves repeated listenings. Well done Cathy. This is your strongest album to date.
