ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Winner Daniel Boling shares experiences from a life well-lived in places as far-ranging as Okinawa, Japan, and Padre Island, Texas. This balladeer/songwriter brings his friendly tenor, fingerstyle guitar, frailed banjo, and beautifully-crafted story songs to delighted audiences throughout the U.S., Western Europe, and New Zealand in over one hundred shows a year, from House Concerts and listening rooms to major festivals (Kerrville, Winfield, Woody Guthrie, and others).

Daniel was born into a traveling Air Force family, and worked as a National Park Ranger and a Criminal Investigator for the US Bureau of Land Management for 30 years. At 50, when most guys are starting to plan their retirement, he started touring full-time. LIVE at The Kitchen Sink is Daniel’s 8th album and was produced by Jono Manson and released in May 2018 on Berkalin Records.

This album was recorded on March 10, 2018 in two concerts for wonderful audiences in The Kitchen Sink Studio in Santa Fe, NM. It includes five of Daniel’s new songs not previously recorded, an old mountain tune to which he has added new verses, a re-write of a song from his He Dreams CD, a couple of his best older songs whose albums are now out of print, audience favorites of Daniel’s, and one song written years ago by his mentor and dear friend Tim Henderson.

LIVE at The Kitchen Sink captures the magic and energy created by artist and audience together and combines that with pristine studio sound – the best of both worlds! Daniel’s stories and introductions open windows into his life and influences and further inform the songs.

"A first-class singer-songwriter-guitarist ..."
– Jack Williams

"Daniel's songs are filled with sweet imagery and infallible word craft, and his live performances bring another dimension of energy and charm."
– Steve Gillette
