Album Notes
"Cinderella Drives A Pick-Up" began almost 20 years ago. Sisters Susan and Cindy Lee had just arrived in California after the end of Cindy’s first marriage. Discouraged about the reality of "happily ever after," they began talking about and mocking the fairy tales and myths that most little girls grow up with.

It started with a few pages from Cindy about her experiences with her ex. Susan added her two cents as her first marriage neared its end. That grew into a book, "Cinderella Drives A Pick-Up And Wears Chuck Taylors" that cobbled together their thoughts, views, opinions and experiences with things such Prince Charming and the Wicked Stepmother.

The book was never published and the sisters moved on with their lives -- Cindy to two more marriages (the current one seems to be sticking), and Susan to the end of her second. However, Susan adapted the book into a screenplay which is the blueprint for the film she will direct beginning in April, 2006 as her production company Life On Its Side, works in conjunction with The Ark Theatre Company to produce a feature film about the realities that lie behind the magic mirrors.

The talented artists on this soundtrack have agreed to lend their talents to both tell the story in the script and help raise funds for filming. Many of them have their own albums available here on CD Baby. So, please buy this album to help us make the film and then go and support the generous and gifted artists found within.
