Album Notes
With the release of their first album "Almost Irish", the Irish rock group Ceann have captured the spirit of their unique brand of Irish music they call "Yankee-Irish Drinking Music."

Early on as an acoustic trio, the members of Ceann realized the inherent humor in Americans playing Irish music for Americans. There was no shortage of Irish nationals around to assure the band members they were not Irish or Irish-American but just plain American. The idea resonated and became the theme of their most popular song - "Almost Irish", which also became the title of their new album. Instead of feigning Irish nationality and writing songs longing for Ireland, Ceann began writing songs that reflected their second and third-generation Irish-American experience. Their new album "Almost Irish" is 12 original songs crafted to capture the energy and fun of a live Ceann show. Besides the title track "Almost Irish", songs like "Whiskey Hurts My Tummy", "31", and "Green Beer" have become crowd favorites across the country.
Due mainly to a strong word of mouth campaign, Ceann has become one of the most popular party-in-a-can bands on the East Coast, and plays to packed pubs from Maine to Florida. The band's sense of humor and live energy makes them one of the few Irish bands that can play their music outside of the traditional Celtic music scene to equal success. Their live shows have set them apart and their fans have come to expect the unexpected.

The band recorded their new album over a six-month period at KMA Studios with engineer Charlie Blass (George Clinton, Jimmy Norman, Mia Rebel.) Recorded in the heart of Times Square, "Almost Irish" features some of New York's best Irish musicians in guest spots including Mr. North guitarist Emmett O'Malley, former Black 47 uilleann pipe player and current Seanchaí & the Unity Squad frontman Chris Byrne, as well as popular New York seissun players Tommy Walsh on accordion and Rich McDaid on fiddle.

This CD will make your day
Love it. Love it. Love it. If you're having a sh***y day, listen to this. It will fill you with joy. My significant other insists it's the funniest damn thing he's ever heard. The songs are clever & catchy and will linger in your head, but you will not mind them being stuck there one bit! I can go on and on. It's just a great CD.

Fun and funny music for just about anywhere
What a great album! Includes many of the songs from the Ceann MySpace page, which is where I heard about them, but not so many that I felt that was all there was. Lots of original songs with catchy melodies, good harmonies, and hilarious lyrics.

You have to listen to each song three times just to make sure you heard everything correctly, and then it just gets stuck in your head for days! My friends love the music as well, and can't stop humming bars of The Worst Pirate or Pabst Blue Ribbon whenever we're together. I'm definately buying their next album, whenever that comes out. Give it a try!

Love it
I was introduced to this band through Live365, RenRadio, and knew when i had the chance I would get the CD. I finally got it and am know introducing the band to friends and co-workers (-;
Some day maybe they can come out to the pacific northwest.

Can't . . . stop . . . singing . . .
A friend of mine in Ohio tuned me to "The Worst Pirate" song, and I HAD to find this CD after that. After two days I could sing just about every song on it. The tunes are happy, catchy, toe-tapping, and guaranteed to stick with you for months, and these almost Irish men have some of the most lovely voices you'll ever hear. And that's from an Irish girl! Take a chance . . . buy their CD! All your friends are doing it . . .

I loved it
I walked into a bar in Virginia Beach and you all were playing, I bought a CD that night and my husband and I came back the next night and I bought a Shirt!!!!! And got up and did the pirate dance for you all!!!!!! I had the best time when you all were playing I loved it. Thank you for making my vacation so much fun!!!!!! The whole way home to Maryland I did the pirate dance!!!!

Good fun listening
The music is catchy, light hearted, smart, and enjoyable. Its fun to listen to music that doesnt take itself to serious, but still has a great sound.

Almost Irish

Can't get it out of my HEAD!!!
Definately not you average Irish band! The music is fresh and fun. We were turned on to their music at a local celtic festival when they sang The Worst Pirate Song... Hilarious! After a week of listening, we have successfully infected all of our friends and family members with many of the songs they sing. Spread the pain... er...wealth! Buy it today to add Ceann to your celtic collection!
