Album Notes
Track 1 Title track "What Do You Do"
I had lost my job and was unemployed for awhile. Shortly after that my minivan needed a new engine. I didn’t realize how much of my social life revolved around my job. However, I realized that though it was kind of lonely hanging around the house by myself, Jesus still loved me, and it was not the end of the world for me. What do ya do? Ya turn to Jesus ‘cause He won’t let you down!

Track 2 “Eternity”
Rev 21:1, Matt 22:30, Rev:22:1, Rev5 :9, Rev15:3, Re4v14:8
We love to go sailing with our 14’ Hobie Cat on Kentucky Lake so I’m a little disappointed that in Rev 21:1 it says that there will be no more seas. Also Jesus said in Matt 22:30, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.” KJV But I know that God is the creator of every good thing. Even the good things that the world misuses and gives the evil one the credit for, like the sexual pleasure that God intended for a husband and wife. So I know that the pleasures in heaven will be much better than these. And of course I know that there will be much better music in heaven than mine.

Track 3 “Jesus Can Heal All Our Sorrows”
The last few years of my Dad’s life he would often go through phases where he would stay awake for several days, then sleep for a long time. I would usually bring my guitar over because he loved to hear my music. I wrote this song one time when I came over and he was in one of his long sleeps. I was thinking about if the end of his life would be soon and I was thinking about my life and how many wonderful things I had missed out on because I didn’t listen and obey what the Lord was telling me! “But, Jesus can heal all our sorrows.”

Track 4 “The Hem of His Garment”
Based on Matt 14:34-36 NKJV “When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.”

Track 5 “My Strength and My Reward”
A simple little worship song

Track 6 “What A World This Would Be”
I was at a pastors prayer luncheon and there was a non-Messianic Jewish Rabbi sitting at our table. His prayers sounded a little different so I asked him about his beliefs. He said that there was a Jewish legend that he believed that God had made the world 70 times before and failed and that this was his 71st and he needed out help this time to succeed. So I explained to him that He did not need our help but that we needed His help! How that God could have made robots that would just automatically obey but that God wanted a people that would willingly follow Him. Just like we want sincere friends not just fair weather friends. He said, “So this is like a test” I said, “Kind of”. I wrote this song on the way home.

Track 7 “Light Before The Dawn” Instrumental

Track 8 “Amazed”
A simple worship song giving God the Glory for His creation!
Romans 1:20-23, Hebrews 1:10, Psalms 19:1, James 4:8

Track 9 “Dad”
A song about my Father Donald G. Ellingsen 1913-2012
When my Dad was about 95 years old, I came over to his house for breakfast after getting off work and he said to me, “It’s hell gettin old Paul, but every day I get up I thank the Lord for another day.” I thought, “That sounds like a country song if I ever heard one.” So I wrote this song when he was 98 and decided to put it on this CD after he died at 99 in Dec 2012. The whole song is true, except he only said it to me once, not many times, and I’m not sure you can really see the northern lights from Peshtigo, WI.

Track 10 “Jesus Jesus”
One Sunday morning in 2003 I just needed one more song to complete the worship set I was planning for that morning, so I wrote this one. Thank you Lord!

Track 11 “Wisdom”
Based on Proverbs
