ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A collection of songs that have stuck with me over the years with a few originals is what the meat of this project is all about. Taking a favorite tune and adding new life to it in a jazz format, you'll be humming it all day!

Nice Job
I've known Cecil for 40 years now (wow - we are really getting old). He's always had a passion for music, even when we were kids. In fact, it was Cecil who taught me how to play guitar. I'm glad he finally got his CD out, and I'm diggin the sounds! For me - my favorite cut is "Never Knew". I like all of the CD but "Never Knew" rocks! Hats off to Tracy Atkins on vocals -- she makes this cut what it is, with a kick-ass groove to bump too, this is a can't-miss cut (hope to hear it on the radio soon). The title cut "The Road Unknown Yet Known" is a Jam Session - plain and simple! It's got great tempo and kick - I love this song too. Lastly, I think Cecil has done a masterful job with the remakes - by adding his own flair to some wonderful classics - like track 4 "CT", which took me right back to Herbie Hancock. I'm proud of Cecil for pursuing his dreams - even though it took him "forever" to release the CD - lol. Here's wishing him blessings, good health, prosperity and more good music to come!
