Album Notes
Joe Cerisano, featured singer for The Trans-Siberian Orchresta is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer who has the distinction of possessing one of the most influential voices in America!

With musical influences as diverse as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Little Richard, Otis Redding, The Beatles, Sam and Dave among others.

Joe developed a singing style that absorbed and combined a wide variety of influences, then mixed them all with his native West Virginia dialect.

The resulting combination makes for a classic and original American singer's voice.

Joe began performing professionally at the age of 14 in secret West Virginia speakeasys.

Which led to a succession of regional bands in north central West Virginia, including the legendary Elderberry Jak.

Traveling to the west coast in the early 80's Joe formed the now legendary California rock band Silver Condor with guitarist Earl Slick (i.e.David Bowie and John Lennon) on Columbia Records.

In 1981 Silver Condor had the Top 40 hit "You Could Take My Heart Away." In the mid eighties Joe began his career as one of the most successful studio session singers in America.

He began working in television and radio commercial singing for Chrysler/Plymouth, the Army, the Navy, GE, Miller Beer, Coca-Cola and many more.

During this period, he also did backing vocals on several albums by Michael Bolton and sang with Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson.

He was the singer of the 1986 song "Hands Across America" which was featured on MTV (it's still being played on Pop-Up Video on VH1).

He sang lead for Blue Oyster Cult on the Imginos album song "Frankenstein." Joe appears with Gloria Estefan on the soundtrack Goya: A Life in Song.
This album also featured vocals by Placido Domingo.

Joe also one of the featured lead vocalists on the 1998 Christmas album, The Christmas Attic by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

This album has already become a Christmas Classic! He recently has been working with two icons of American music, Richie Havens and Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals), on a recording project with veteran drummer Jack Scarangella.

In early November 1999, Joe was called upon to sing back up for the popular rock band Korn, as they introduced their new album Issues.

This live concert was broadcast on over 100 radio stations in a global event staged at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City.

In the early 1990's Joe and his songwriting partner Marc Blatte began writing a series of songs that reflected the most important thing in Joe's life (his family) and what it takes to raise a family in this day and age.

The resulting music evolved to become the album Carbon Copy.

Carbon Copy emphasizes the traits and traditions that have been passed on to us by our parents.

As children, we sometimes tried to avoid many of these characteristics and customs through the act known as "rebellion." However, as we grow older, many times we find ourselves actually beginning to think, act, and become "carbon copies" of our parents Carbon Copy was a project of labor and love for Joe Cerisano.

Recorded in New York, Nashville, and at Joe's home in New Jersey, Carbon Copy features three of the world's finest guitarists: Eric Weissberg (John Denver, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, and 1973 Grammy winner for "Dueling Banjos"), Jeff Pevar (RayCharles, Phil Collins, David Crosby, CPR, Graham Nash, Carly Simon, and James Taylor), and Ira Siegel (Garth Brooks, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Jewell, Bette Midler, Steve Winwood, etc).

Once you listen, you'll be hooked...
Touching, emotional CD from a singer so talented that you actually FEEL the songs, not just hear them.

Fantastic-a hearfelt spiritual journey.
This CD blew me away. Impossible to categorize, and impossible to forget, this disc manages to be hauntingly personal without falling into the navel-gazing that so often dooms "sensitive" singer-songwriters. Joe C. can crank it up, or lay it back, and it_just_flat_works.

If you like your music honest and spiritual, without being preachy, ordwr this disc NOW!

Had to buy one for a friend
Even though I reviewd it before, I had to review it again. Carbon Copy has stood the test of time so well, I had to order one for a friend, who was equally blown away. This remains one of the most honest, heartfelt CDs ever recorded.

Charlie Pornovets

An important collection of music that reflects, touches, and delivers!

Joe Cerisano's Carbon Copy impresses me as a powerful collection of songs conveying themes that touch upon many ideals that are very important to me. These are songs with messages that America (and the rest of the world) needs to hear! Joe guides the listener down of path of emotion and reaction with this fine collection of songs that envelop a vast array of his American musical roots. If you are looking for lyrics and delivery that make you sit up and think, then Carbon Copy is for you. Accompanying Joe are renowned guitarists Eric Weissberg, Jeff Pevar, and Ira Siegel.
Joe Cerisano writes and sings from his heart and soul!

Awesome CD delivered straight from the heart
What can I say that hasn't already been said? The other reviews are all true. Some of the music was so touching it left me sitting real still for several minutes, just staring at the speakers...some of the lyrics hit so close to home they stopped me dead in my tracks. The combined effect is a CD you will love without being able to explain why. If you like acoustic, heartfelt music with an edge, and a voice that sounds like a best friend you'd trust with your life, buy this CD. And be prepared to make use of the disc-repeat AND the track-repeat on your player.
