Album Notes
The César Mateus Latin Jazz Group was formed in winter-spring 2005 in Los Angeles, California by guitarists César Andrés Mateus and Brad Rabuchin, Brazilian and Afro-Caribbean percussionists Sandro Feliciano and Robert Fernandez, electric bassist Brent Fischer, and Accordéonist Frank Petrilli.

The group was founded in order to present and expose the public to a wide variety of original music as well as music from the rich traditions of South and North America, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and North and West Africa.

The group began performing "live" in 2006 and recorded their first album titled "Of Red and White" containing original music influenced by: Rumba, Tango, Bolero, Mambo, Samba, Bossa Nova, Flamenco, Guaracha, Jazz, and traditional Senegalese and Mandingo music.

The group performs regularly at La Vè Lee and the Baked Potato in Studio Cilty, California. They have also played to sold out audiences at Ventura College and various other venues throughout 2007-08!

A highlight of the recordings and concerts are the performances by renown guest artists such as percussionists
Richie and Roland Garcia, Samuel Mazur, bassists Kevin Farrell, Doug Shreeve and Erik Kertes, drummer Dick Weller, saxophonist Oran Coltrane, and pianists Corry Bell and Bryan Pezzone.
