Album Notes
CHAOTICA’s third full-length original album, “Disruptive” slams listeners with the latest 12 chapters of rebellious anti-authoritarianism in an aggressive, yet catchy and approachable satire. This “Disruptive” record retaliates against the oppressive State with lyrics of disaffection, in the form of riot-mongering anthems that suggest even anarchy is better than the freedom-sucking authoritative regime that is our non-representative government. The themes of the record “Disruptive” are of a much needed uprising to revolution, to reform and reclaim our civic rights to freedom that have been quietly removed over time by overreaching government power plays that circumvent the true consent of the governed.

CHAOTICA’s rejuvenated sound comes almost 10 years after their last full-length original album, “Prison of Decay” which seemed to pave the way (both lyrically and sonically) for this more polished, refined, yet “no holds barred” evolution of CHAOTICA’s music. Danny Chaotic’s gritty, aggressive voice is more controlled, with more melodic variation, harmonies and counterpoints, while still remaining true to his metal roots with occasional well-placed angst-ridden screams. Guitars are more layered, with plenty of amp and solid state grit, but they act more as a “meaty thickening” to a complex and robust sonic landscape. Gary Toth, CHAOTICA’s original lead guitarist, returns to the project to deliver shredding solos and lead melodies to the tried and true formula that CHAOTICA is known for.

Keyboards and synthesizers have evolved to be more organic, and well - “chaotic” with massive growls and wobbles akin to that found in Dubstep, only without the repetitiveness and predictability. The low end of this record is also a dramatic improvement, providing thunderous sub bass and hard penetrating kicks that will rattle any trunk lid or skull. But the real bright spot of this record is the songwriting, composing, and skilled production, as Danny Chaotic delivers a more complex, multi-layered, compositional opus. In true CHAOTICA form, Danny Chaotic writes, performs, and records all of the material that is heard on “Disruptive,” with the exception of Gary’s lead guitars.

“Disruptive” fires on all cylinders, with something for everyone to enjoy (or take aim at). And due to the melodic complexity, there’s always something new to discover each time you listen to this album. Check out their music samples and see if you agree - CHAOTICA is a serious contributor to the electronic rock genre, and probably one of the more underrated acts of their ilk.

My new FAVE!!!
This newest album from CHAOTICA is the best one to date! Every track is a fresh new discovery. The instrumentals are richly filled out with hard hitting bass & industrial synths. I LOVE the unpredictable drop in Goodbye Turquoise, but my overall favorite instrumentals are End of Everything.
Shadows is one of my fave/hates… The first half makes me feel rather disturbed, but then it becomes a really rockin’ empowering anthem.
Overall, lyrically this album is a bit more poppy than CHAOTICA’s previous work, but as a non-harcore industrial fan, I enjoy that about it. There is a VERY cool triple melody thing that happens in The One Who Destroyed… & my absolute FAVE of the whole album so far is The One to Blame. Cuz I think it just describes my past relationship disaster so well in a catchy & love-to-sing-along to way.
However, I saved one of the best for last, I think the biggest HIT of this album is Tear It Down. I could rock out to this all day, everyday. I would LOVE to see this on a movie soundtrack someday, too… something like Mad Max-ish.
So, those are my quick thoughts, I really hope it helps whoever reads it. It is really a worthwhile buy for anyone that hardcore loves industrial rock & even for others, like me, who mostly listens to Pop, but sometimes wants some hard-hitting adrenaline-pumping music to really rev up to. OH! Side-note on that last comment… I find this music helps me focus on studying, working out, & long driving trips.
