Album Notes
Charleen Harris Stevens was an accomplished child. She began performing on radio at the age of three, singing, playing piano, and tap dancing. She is a graduate of the High School of Music and Art and Hunter College in NYC, attended Juilliard for piano, and played violin in the All City Youth Orchestra.

So why is she 'The Accomplished Woman'? Working in the business world has given Charleen a unique perspective which she brings to her artistic expression. She worked as a music teacher in NY public schools, for architect Phillip Johnson on the Battery Park City Project, as an internationa stewardess, modelled for the Paul Madiri Agency, sold vitamins and life insurance, designed and painted silk scarves for the Philadelphia Museum original art gallery. She has also written an opera and a musical, taken dance classes in ballet, tap, and jazz, and won awards for her garden.

"In an age where the average woman works fulltime outside the home and has little time to express her talents, I am expressing mine. Where most people today specialize, I want to promote the ideal of the many-sided Renaissance person. You cannot take every path; you must choose. But sometimes you can return to a path not taken and enjoy the journey."

"Charleen Stevens' piano performance on her CD, particularly the pieces by Brahms and Schumann, are exquisite, sensitive, virtuosic, and ineffably expressive. The CD awards the classical music aficionado for repeated listening." -Len Lear, Arts and Entertainment Editor, Chestnut Hill Local, Philadelphia

Magnificent and masterful...
Charleen Steven's playing is truly magnificent. She interprets these pieces with such an enlightened and masterful touch that I feel swept away listening to her play. This cd is a real treat!
