Album Notes
Charles Dermer is a PhD astrophysicist who did basic research on black holes and their jets for over 30 years. As an amateur musician, he played guitar and composed songs. After retiring from the US government with 23 years service, he worked with Alexandra Fessenko, a talented Russian living in the US, and wrote several more songs. This music is the story of my life, told through a guitar darkly. Upon completing one week in the studio, I had a falling out with Alexandra, and she pressed criminal charges against me. She thought that a new song I had written contained death threats. I beat that rap, but it ended our working relationship. I then worked with Lydia Salnikova to finish the album.

The music is all American, with roots in country, blues, and ballads. But I use a range of styles: folk, rock, Christian, Latin, and reggae which, when sung by Russian women with beautiful voices makes for some of the best new music imaginable. For more information about the album, please see
