Album Notes
DoubleStop is a partnership between singer Charles Dolph and bassist Ethan Philion. Together, Dolph and Philion organize a variety of jazz groups, arrange for different ensembles, and compose original music. Their self-titled debut album reflects the work the two have done together over the past three years.

Dolph and Philion's partnership began at Oberlin College and Conservatory in 2011 where the two studied with renowned teachers Peter Dominguez, Jay Ashby, Bobby Ferrazza, Dan Wall, Jamey Haddad, Billy Hart, Kim Nazarian, Gerald Cannon, and Gerald Crawford. In 2012 the two began performing together as a duo in the Cleveland area. Their partnership took off when they spent the summer of 2013 performing at restaurants in Cape Cod. Since then, they've performed in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC with a variety of groups.

In June of 2014 the duo moved to the DC area. Dolph and Philion currently perform regularly in the DC area with a variety of other DC musicians. They continue to organize larger bands such as the DoubleStop Quartet--a quartet that features a rotating group of excellent DC drummers and pianists.
