Album Notes
Charley Sandage has played and written in styles ranging from Ozark traditional and bluegrass to old-time rock and roll, contemporary country, and sixties-era folk. "The Last Local" is his most recent collection, and it features the instrumental work of the inimitable Tim Crouch, whose numerous and far-ranging credits include playing fiddle and writing the charts for Alan Jackson's recent bluegrass album. Some of these songs are thirty years old, and some were written for this project. They range from made-up tales (Different Music) to autobiographical (The Best Thing I Gave Her), from celebratory (Dirt) to reflective (After the Dreams), and nostalgic (This Old Guitar) to just for fun (The Fiddler.)
