Album Notes
For MUCH more complete info on who I am...please go to

This is NOT a normal Jazz CD. It is listed under Progressive Rock because it is NOT the traditional Jazz blowing session. NO long, one chord jams here. You just gotta hear it. LOTS OF GUITAR on here, for u guitar fans, but the focus is on the music, NOT the guitar playing.
I am a great fan of CHARLIE PARKER but grew up in the rock era. This has created a strange output.
Listen to the sound clips of Night in Tunisia for a hint of what its about.

Included in this CD are classical pieces as well as pop/rock tunes. It is GUITAR oriented, since that is my main instrument. My favorite musicians are
Johnny Smith, Barney Kessel, Parker, Coltrane, Joe Pass...the usual list.

I was not trying to focus on a consistent or cohesive just letting it all
hang out.
Please also take a look at the website CHARLIEX.ORG for much more info.

This guy is some kind of freak of nature. From Segovia
to Hendrix in a single bound. A lot of guys tout
themselves as versitile, but this guy Morphs (that's what his website calls it)into something
totally different. It's weird but he has a LOT of music
to express and does every style FULL ON. Nothing is
watered down here. GREAT songs and a totally new
thing, but be forwarned: The music on this CD is EXTREME! There
is no consideration given to fitting in with current
trends. Charlie X is truly doing his own thing. Some
of this music is cutting edge (certainly, the artist
is) but will likely take a good while to be acknowledged for it. The songs range from folk type acoustic (with vocals) to heavy jazz, rock and classical. I've never heard this kind of range from anyone.
