Album Notes
After cutting her teeth in pop and rock bands (Charlie Sexton, Trinity Street, Puss 'N' Boots), Pittsburgh native Ché Zuro began doing solo shows with only her acoustic guitar.

'Welcome Home' finds her back in the studio with a full band sound resulting in well written songs and infectious melodies that will have you singing the songs long after the CD has ended.

Welcome Home, co-produced by old friend Bernie Larsen (Cry On Cue, Melissa Etheridge, El Rayo-X), layers Ché's acoustic guitars and vocals with drums, bass, keyboards, and more!

Bernie and Ché shared most of the instrumental duties while some pals (Jorgé Calderon, Brie Howard-Darling of Boxing Gandhis, co-writer Tisa Adamson) came in to sing some background vocals and play some percussion.

This album will not only please fans of The Beatles and The Mamas & The Papas, but also fans of today's female sound of Jewel, Paula Cole, Sheryl Crow and Mary-Chapin Carpenter.

Harmonies, guitars and good tunes - what else could you ask for on one CD? Don't wait! Buy 'Welcome Home'!

"Singer-guitarist Ché Zuro prefers to remain mysterious about what she calls her "colorful past," including a stint in the late '80s backing up Charlie Sexton and involvement in the Orchids, one of notorious Svengali-type Kim Fowley's all-girl rock bands. And why not? Zuro's since reinvented herself as an indefatigable folk singer who prefers to maintain control over her own music; she even played all the instruments on her first CD, 10,000 Jalama Road. Armed with just an acoustic guitar, she can be quite bewitching as a solo artist (tonight she'll be accompanied by frequent partner Tisa Adamson), but she's heard to grandest effect on her most recent CD, Welcome Home, where sunny ballads "Mr. Chow's Garden" and "Heaven's Gate" are imbued with subtle psychedelic production flourishes and full-band arrangements. Most of her tunes, like "Everybody's Changing," with its beguiling pop hook, are similarly laid-back and pleasantly melodic, but the feverish, sensual bondage incantation "Tied Your Baby Down" is a flat-out rock shuffle that's in a magic space somewhere between Fleetwood Mac and Led Zeppelin."

Great CD
I bought this CD after watching a movie Gypsy83. There was a short clip playing Che Zuro's Crystal Sea song. I liked it a lot, after I bought the cd, my friends listened to it and liked it a lot.
I recommend this CD to everyone.

A fantastic suprise....
I hate it when I buy a CD and have to skip
through most of it to get to the
songs I like.......I didn't with this one.
I was pleasantly surprised with "Welcome Home"
Che's music had me singing along by the 3rd consecutive
time I listened to it.....(even the Betty and Wilma giggles ;)
Buy it, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to the
next one!

One of the best CDs I have!
The first time I heard Che Zuro's voice was from afar at an outdoor event. I told my companions I would meet them at the stage. I just had to know whose voice I was hearing. I've been listening ever since. Her new CD,"Welcome Home" is one great song after another. She has an impressive talent for melodies and hooks that really stand out. These songs are lyrically sound too with a wide range of subject matter. Check out the ominous sound of "Heaven's Gate", a tune about a cult and mass suicide. On the other hand, "Mr Chow's Garden" is pure joy and imagery. "Gypsy" isjust a great rock song. The vocal and electric guitar combination gives it an raw and edgy quality. Then there's "Hombre Mio" co-written by Tisa Adamson (who also sings harmony on a few of these tunes). It is a beautiful, Spanish-influenced melody contrasted with a sad story of domestic violence. The Zeppelin-esque vibe of "Crystal Sea" is a don't-miss with it's haunting vocal fills. Yes, it's that voice again. Hers is a warm, inviting voice, smoothe enough for a ballad but with the power for rock and roll. Everytime I hear this CD, I want to hear it again.

In the realm of singer-songwriters, Ché Zuro is leagues ahead of the pack. She's got a flexible voice (listen to her wonderful low notes) and excellent songwriting chops. This CD keeps finding it's way back to my player on an almost daily basis. I highly recommend this disc -- you won't be sorry! This artist will go far!
