Album Notes
Cherise Carver’s latest release, "That Girl," is a compilation across multiple genres to give the listener a glimpse of her musical styles including Country, Adult Contemporary, and Contemporary Christian. She shares songs of love, life, loss and hope.
Song inspiration:
Rock In the Road was inspired by the Bobby Bones Show and tells the listener that relationship issues are sometimes just “that” and can be overcome when true love wins.
That Girl is the story of finally being the “bride” after always being the “bridesmaid” and is symbolic of having it all with the man of her dreams.
A Little While represents true love later in life as the singer prefers a shorter lifetime with the right person vs. “fifty years of nothing special.”
I’m Gonna Love You has a throwback melody and tempo reminiscent of the Fifties.
Don’t Have to Get Over You tells the tale of a woman who loses her man but chooses never to get over him.
The Little Things is an ode to Cherise’s son, Justin, as he graduates High School. She is reflecting on how “the little things” in life are actually some of her most cherished memories.
Look Up to Me is an inspirational Christian song spoken from God to his children.
God Gave Me You is the perfect wedding or anniversary song.
Meant to Be has a soft rock feel reminiscent of a group like Journey.
You Found Me is a love song depicting love found at a later stage in life when all seemed hopeless.
Story of You and Me is an uplifting celebration of two people’s journey.
Waiting for You was inspired by Cherise’s son being adopted by her second husband after the death of her first one.
Withered Heart is an inspirational Christian song leading the listener back to Jesus after time apart.
