Album Notes
Since beginning her violin studies at the age of three, California native Cheryl Norman has established her self throughout the musical world as a mature and memorable soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.

Ms. Norman has performed in major venues around the world such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center's Alice Tully and Avery Fischer Halls, and the Mann Auditorium in Israel among others. Her numerous honors include the first prize in the Musical Merit Auditions in San Diego, the "premier prix avec felicitations" from the Conservatory of Lausanne in Switzerland, as well as an Artist Grant from the Conservatory of Lausanne in Switzerland. As the winner of the millenium Rome Festival Conerto Competition, Cheryl gave a series of five recitals as well as a concerto appearance in Rome. In 2001 and 2002, Cheryl was invited to the Maud Powell Festival in Illinois, where she served as recitalist, teacher, concertmaster, and soloist with the Festival Orchestra. There, she was honored with the Maud Powell Festival "Emerging Artist Award".

Ms. Norman frequently gives recitals and chamber music concerts throughout the United States and Europe. She has appeared as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne in Switzerland, the Millenium Chamber Orchestra in New York, and the SUNY at Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, among others. Cheryl is the Assistant Principal Second Violinist of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and a violinist with the Grant Park Symphony in Chicago, where she performs for ten weeks each summer.

An active participant in several festivals, Ms. Norman served as Concertmaster for the International Symphony Orchestra in Israel, the Principal Second Violinist at the Schleswig-Holstein Orchestra in Germany, and the World Youth Symphony orchestra at Interlochen, Michigan. She has been a Concertmaster of the Jupiter Symphony in New York, Concertmaster of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra in West Virginia, and has appeared with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
