by Chibi Kodama

A journey from boredom and frustration to wonder and significance. Stardust is the 3rd album from Chibi Kodama, and is by far our most passionate work. Big beats, big guitars, wild synths and great lyrics for the whole family to sing along to.

Album Notes
Stardust was a great pain and joy to make. We actually started writing bits of it right after releasing our 2nd album, "We're not going crazy..." I had gone through a nasty surgery, soon after we had our 5th child, life was nuts. This year saw numerous friends falling ill with cancer, and some losing the battle. Lots of heartache abounded.

These songs are about victory over our stupid insecurities and struggles. These songs are about finding hope in each other's eyes and laughing as we fight it off.

Simply, we really love these songs, and are delighted to share them with the rest of the world. We hope that they make you smile as much as they do us.

This family-made album will bring your family emotionally closer as you rock out
This disc has been a constant request and favorite from our 5 year old in the car. But she's not alone in grooving to this album which is in turns rowdy, touching, outlandish, and relatable in its lyrical and emotional content. The musical setting, a blend of post-punk, new-wave and power-pop, carries enormous energy, helped along by John's three grade-school-aged daughters (and will soon be joined by their toddler and infant who are showing early signs of rocking out - you'll see all 5 on stage at their live shows) and his wife Yvonne. But don't mistake this family band with the Partridges. The fact that they're made up of a mom, a dad and the kids is no gimmick. Every subject matter, from how to battle everyday boredom to the urgency of communicating between parent and child, is completely centered on the experiences we as parents and kids in a family, have in some way. Chibi Kodama turns those feelings up to 11 so we can be part of that hard rocking conversation. My recommendation: get this album today, play it in the family car, and talk about its messages around the dinner table.
