ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Choupique - world's ugliest fish. Also known as bowfin or grenel. It's also the name of 5 piece band in South Louisiana that's been performing for years around the state with their unique blend of Cajun, Zydeco, and Roots Style music. The band is lead by Jesse Brown from Eunice, Louisiana who is the lead singer and accordion player. Fiddle, lead guitar, and back up vocals are provided by Bill Grass from Baton Rouge. Anglyn Brown from Baton Rouge provides rhythm with acoustic guitar. Kent Lavigne from Gonzales, Louisiana rounds out the rhythm section with his bass. Warren Thomassie keeps the beat as the band's drummer and back up vocalist.

Expect to hear Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco classics as well as some new soulful French songs. The band also balances the act with Roots style South Louisiana favorites and originals.

Come listen to the band that the locals scream about!

This is one of the best bands in Louisiana, U.S. for that matter. They play in an enthusiastic manner and make you want to jump up and dance to the tune, whether or not you can dance or not. Fantastic.
