Album Notes
Born in the corn (IOWA) and transplanted to the mountains(Montana), Chris Lane is a country boy at heart.
Moving through time, knowing that "living" is philosophy, Chris plays and writes about relationships: People, places and things that share space. The muse is a funny thing and is always open to exploration.
Presenting music that grooves is important to this musician.
Whether a ballad or a shuffle, a song needs to have something that identifies itself as a unique expression...
Chris loves everything about the blues and says,
"Blues lives and breathes through the artist's that choose to share this important spiritual connection. No matter what genre or label you put on it, blues is life as life is the blues."

Great Songs and Lyrics!
I was sold on the first song! A song to his kids about how much he loves their mother, what a geat celebration of family life. Very Cool! All through the CD we hear words that come from a great view and understanding of the treasures of life.

timeless and optimistic
Chris' melodies are a perfect combination of deliberate, cerebral, and catchy bliss. However many times I hum his tunes heading here or there, they never grow old or irritating. That's because he's never too sentimental or too saccharinely sweet. He manages to do this while confessing his love- for family, for his wife, and for the simple, honest things in life. His voice is easily transformed into the focus of the song- clear with the occasional raspy edge, full, versatile, and bluesy and so much soulforce behind it. He pulls the listener in with great introductions, slow and coaxing(- then throws in real rockin tunes(All The Time, POned)- blues and beats and so much energy. If you like Dylan, Chris Whitley, and rare gems in general, he is to be appreciated. This cd is perfect for anything from quiet moments of self-reflection to parties. He's real and so is his talent. I can't wait for him to do a show at the Iron Horse in Northampton, Mass... but that is fairly far from the wild mountains of Montana.
