ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sweet Bread is exactly this: Sustenance with good a flavor.
Some grooves, some ballads, some fun, all soul.
Recorded in the winter, in a log cabin (home) on a mountainside, the only additional instrument that you may hear, besides voice and guitars, is the beautifully deep whoosh of the furnace. It kicks in here and there to ad a bit of "contemporary" percussion as a seasoning to quieter moments.

This is what Chris says about Sweet Bread:
Making music is the thing, only after being a husband and father.
The muse is love, forgiveness, nature and the universe.
Real life informs everything and I write about the things important to real life.
Peace is found within and the journey is a never ending road of questions...they don't all need answering but the ones that present themselves to us we need to acknowledge.

Laughing is the greatest medicine.

Even Better than Knee High
Read the review from WOZQ on Chris' last album "Knee High" to get an idea of the sound. Overall, this album has more focus on Lane's guitar skills (ie Part of You Blues). The production of this cd is perfect- like polished grassroots. His melodies go deeper this time around and his subject matter stays just as diverse. "Not A Cry Baby..." is a unique demonstration of Chris' versatile vocals. I have utmost repect for the way he can blend artistic creativity with traditional blues and hummable melodies. Keep producing- your sentimental strength and storytelling maintains American culture and preseves its history.
