ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In his second solo CD, “Leaving the Path”, Chris Otto takes an experimental approach to progressive world music, exploring folk traditions from North America, Europe, the Mid East and beyond, adding to them the energy and flavor of contemporary styles such as jazz and progressive rock. The music features the native American flute and Irish whistle, with a variety of accompaniment, including world percussion instruments, kalimba, piano and guitar. Chris' playing style is energetic, often rhythmic and sometimes experimental, creating music that defies the "meditation music" label that is often placed on world flute music.

Playing on the Cd are:

Chris Otto: Native American Flute, Irish whistle, fingerboard kalimba, percussion, & keyboard.
Guitar on "Spiderwort Walz" by Alvy Caby
Djembe on "Dreaming of the Mountain" by Bryson Gerard
