ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Chris Templeton and his groundbreaking raised fretboard pedal steel guitar, combine elements of Rock, Country, Hawaiian, Americana, and free range jam music into a solid genre defying combo of grooves, peppered throughout with his thoughtful spoken word.

Featuring twenty-six heavy-hitting backup musicians including "The world's foremost steel guitarist", Buddy Emmons (Everly Brothers, Paul McCartney), bassist, Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck, Chick Corea) and drummer, Ian Wallace (King Crimson, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt) just to name a few.

Thanks for stopping by Chris' CD Baby site, feel free to wander around and check out the audio samples. Here is a word from the man himself:

"The Tapper is a pedal steel guitar with a raised fret board which enables me to fret with my fingers as well as using the tapping technique to sound the strings with both hands. The beauty of using this method on a pedal steel guitar is that different strings can be lowered or raised depending on the tuning employed. Although there is somewhat of a standard for tuning the pedal steel and the Tapper the tuning possibilities are endless. I feel fortunate to have known great inspiration during the process of creating and playing The Tapper . I hope you enjoy this record as much as I have enjoyed making it. Chris - Labor Day, 2012"

"For those of you who haven't yet heard Chris - hold on to your hats - he is a monster!" Jim Palenscar Owner of Steel Guitars of North County, Oceanside, CA.

"Tapper and pedal steel guitar virtuoso and Vermont native Chris Templeton artfully combines beautiful instrumentals and hot jams on his instrument with a star studded cast of guest players and his homespun and good-humored impressions of modern Americana." - Stephen Barncard producer (David Crosby & Graham Nash, Grateful Dead)
