ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Chris Thayer plays acoustic-driven pop rock, with clear folk and R & B influences. Chris offers live shows which feature mostly upbeat, bouncy electric and acoustic tunes with melodies that scream "audience sing along."
He has been playing all over the Western United States, in such venues as Hard Rock Cafe, Viper Room, B.B. King's and the Greek Theatre. He has opened for such acts as the Bacon Brothers (featuring Kevin and Michael Bacon), Dread Zeppelin, Dave Wakeling of English Beat/General Public, Little River Band, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers. In 2001 he performed for two weeks on James Taylor's "Pull Over Tour" in Northern, CA, and Phoenix, AZ.
For the PHOENIX CD realeas party, Chris opened for STYX at the Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino, CA.
With energetic material and a quirky sense of humor, each show promises to be a "feel-good" experience.
Chris will be releasing his new CD, CHASING VENUS in September of 2005.

Chris Thayer rocks
Even tho it's only five songs, it's still a great cd. I think "Distraction" is my favorite, but it's pretty close with "Let it go". Nice guitar work. I love the style that's a mush of all kinds of stuff. Can't wait 'til the next one.

Catchy and memorable!
Chris has a talent for writing songs that stick in your head so much that you find yourself singing them during random points of the day. This CD is down to earth, yet impressive and quite refreshing in an age where a lot of music is manufactured pop.

Amazing new sound. Clever lyrics. Great album all around.
With this new album, the Chris Thayer Band has graduated. The sound of Phoenix does not have the pop-y feel of previous Chris Thayer music, which is a welcome change. It has matured. It is pure rock, nothing more.
