Album Notes
About the songs:
1. You Are My Favorite Gift is a love song to the one you love to wake up with on Christmas morning. "Christmas morning, sunlight peeks into the window as you sleep, I watch your face and think of what I'm thankful for"
2. My Jesus Came a Baby is a bluesy song. "Could have come a king of Persia in the finest finery, but He came a common person like me"
3. Greater Than I is the story of the wise man, what he sought and how he was changed. "I'd seen an unknown star rise up and fill the skies, and after days of studying what great tidings it might bring, I went searching for the king it signified"
4. Santa My Dear is the song that Mrs. Claus sings to her husband upon his return from a busy night. "Santa my dear, come sit by the fire, put up your feet and get them nice and toasty"
5. Jesus My Baby Boy is the song that Mary sings to her baby, telling him how he will come to be known. "Though you lay in the darkness of this cattle stall, all the world will one day know that you are the light for all"
6. Innkeeper's Song is the song of the innkeeper wishing he could have done more for this family in trouble. "What if I were in his place, my wife and child in danger? What if all I had were faith and the kindness of a stranger?"
7. Snowed In With You is the song of someone happy for an excuse to stay at home by the fire with the one she loves. "Whenever snow begins to blow, I'm always hoping I'll be snowed in with you"
8. As the World Lay Sleeping is a partner song to the traditional Coventry Carol. "As a mother lays a kiss on her child's forehead when darkness falls, so was given this gift from the heart of a loving God as the world lay sleeping, sleeping, sleeping"
9. If I Were In Bethlehem is a cumulative song like the Twelve Days of Christmas. "I could have been the woolly sheep beside the baby fast asleep, I could have been the turtle dove who from the rafters up above sang lullabies to Christ the Lord"
10. My Soul Waits for the Lord is an Advent song inspired by Psalm 130 "My soul waits for the Lord like the watchman waits for the morning"
